I am always posting when I should be doing something else. In this case that something else is sleeping as it it 2:45AM and that is when the normal people generally get some shut eye. But good old Kae, she’s a bloody insomniac and therefore blunders through her entire life half asleep. Go Team.
I feel like I should blog more, but whenever I have an idea for a blog post it is when I am smack dab in the middle of doing something else. I mean, my life isn’t the hyper exciting rocketship ride it was in the UK, but, so what, I’m still living right. In many ways that trip was bad for me, I expect everything to be exhilerating in my life now and get all pissy when I have to do the same old. Or find a fucking job.
Speaking of finding a job, holy bloody fuck is it getting hard. People don’t seem to get that I could care less about the recession but everywhere has a hiring freeze. You just want to yell at them ‘Well, fuck, you may not be hiring but they are still going to charge me several thousand dollars next year to go to school.” I know it isn’t the fault of individual companies, but do people have to be so agressive when refusing my resume. Shit. I may need to go back to Ottawa where I have more options.
Speaking of which, I finished my first year of University April 30th, I had an exam 7-10 which was the last possible time slot, and it was my hideous math exam from hell. But so far I’ve passed all my courses with just my Criminology mark to come in. Woohoo. I finally got my minor together too, so I am now a Philosophy Major with a Computer Science Minor.
Because this entry is doomed to be schitzophrenic due to the early hour that I am unloading my brain I guess I can babble about music for a bit, I’ve been getting into even more grunge tunes, not sure why, but lately Hole, Melvins, Meat Puppets and Butthole Surfers are getting a lot of play time here. I am in love with Plateau by the Meat Puppets and Pepper by the Butthole Surfers (I know, the commercial underground forgive me gods of indie for I have sinned)
Anyways, I thought I could write more of an entry but I’m drawing a big old blank. So, more entries soon, but sleep now.
EDIT:
I confess — I have Twitter.

I don’t think anything makes me smile as much as tacky Beatles music. Normally I’m a fan of the brooding psychedelic stuff that other people avoid like the plague. Think Revolution 9, Beatles fans, and you have it. But sometimes I want to listen to pure unbridled fluff. Lady Madonna, All you need is love, and Hey Jude. Something that is so cotton candy sickly sweet that I’m half embarrassed to listen to it, should someone notice.
I think sometimes this can even filter into how I want people to see me. I have this reputation for being very serious all the time, but sometimes I want to be fluff.

Just a quick one so I can wrap my head around this I need to do both online and offline:
- Get my hands on a guitar tuner — they’re only like $10 so procrastinating is not really worth it
- Call, or get mum to call the guy about my summer job
- Revamps on the following websites in the following order:
- Finish off the last little bits of the Tim Fanlisting (Codes, About, fix mistakes)
- Do the ShadowRO website
- Do Empty Cage, new layout, put the focus on the blog aspect
- Move mum’s domain from Network Solutions to be hosted on my hosting plan, as well as make a new layout for her site
- Study for Math
- Get money order for room next year

Okay, so, the latest leg of my Linux adventures is finding a way to install normal, downloaded free true type fonts on my lovely little Fedora machine in order to get webdesign without using the same six default-tastic fonts. My luck has been grim to say the very least. It’s just one more of those things you take for granted on Windows I suppose. Easy installation of fonts. I find it strange that no one else seems to find this to be much of a problem. Though, I guess nerds don’t speak pretty font. Regardless, I continue my quest, I would be pissed if I had to pop in my windows hard drive for something this trivial.
Anyways, I have totally lost my train of thought to CSI: New York. Later.

Because when I was little my favourite number was (and still is) twenty-seven I used to tell everyone my birthday was January 27th. Some people still think it is the 27th, and for some reason I can never bring myself to correct them. It’s amazing how often 27 has come up in my life after deciding it was my favourite number.
Oh my god, I’m almost twenty.

It’s a new semester, and I’ve decided my three semester goals are going to be to eat healthy, go for a walk every day and have both a hard copy and a digital copy of all of my school notes.
For me, the tactile act of actually writing my notes out makes me way more likely to remember what I’m writing, whereas typing means I might actually be able to read them again one day. I have yet to find a Linux app to take notes the way I want to though, so, my quest continues. I’ve tried a few different things, like Tomboy Notes, and am playing with NoteCase, so we’ll see what happens.
The problem I’ve been having with good old Linux is there are lots of apps, and they all seem to do little bits of what I want, but none of them do exactly what I want them to. I ran into this same problem with music players, and even now I’m not settled on one, rather I’m using Rhythmbox until Songbird supports my music player — though I’ve been going to war with Banshee it’s just not going to do what I want.
All of my webprojects seem to have grinded to a halt for whatever reason. No creativity left in my brain to speak of. I’m hoping to finish turning the Regulus Black Fanlisting into a character fansite within the week. I plan on doing this to all of my fanlistings, because I figure it would be nice to start a trend of having Fanlistings that actually have a purpose. I have two on deck right now, Felix the Cat and Timothy McGee (NCIS), but I’m feeling design challenged right now.
Thanks to Amber and Crystal for the comments, sometimes being mean feels fun. =)

Okay, I’m not going to lie, I’ve been off school a few days now… blissfully done my first semester exams and such. But for some reason I’m having trouble getting myself modivated to do anything website related. Which is bad, because I owe three third parties websites right now and I just can’t bring myself to spend time on webwork. Not so good considering I want to have my whole domain cleaned out and freshened up for the new year, and try to get all the websites I owe out and to the people who are owed. Christmas can take some of the blame, by the way, as it’s technically Christmas now — Happy Christmas, loves!
It’s funny because really, I don’t want to do anything, even writing this blog feels more like a moral obligation than something I want to do. It’s weird, occasionally I’ve been knows to get a bit listless in the colder months, but not this bad. I don’t know, I’ll try shoving myself around a bit.
After tomorrow I have probably got more time to write and I have two fanlistings to build, which should round out the ones I have and not lead to my applying for more unless something I would kill for hits the floor.
P.S.
Love Amber more for my layout, it is sexy as hell. Plus, give her a congrats on all the awesomeness that had been going on in Amberland of late.

I really don’t have time to be writing this until exams are over (three to go).
However, I just thought I’d point out how STUNNING my new digs are thanks to a stunning Christmas gift from Amber! She’s also my new hostee, hosting Dark Rose on top of Empty Cage.
Love her. I demand. Any ways, back to studying, be back soon!

My cousin Brian is getting married, and because of this I will spend the next five days in Winnipeg, Manitoba. I wouldn’t mind so much but for my mother being a bit of a busybody and being forced into a part of the wedding party. That is to say, I’m going to be spending all of my time here doing wedding things, and none of it just relaxing. I miss looking forward to my summers.
After this wedding it’s straight to the cottage, so I may be forced to whip up a temporary layout for the Magical Mystery Tour on my Aunt’s computer (A Mac! Eek!) so I don’t get in trouble with TFL… again. I am TFL’s worst nightmare. All else fails, it will be a classic black Times New Roman on white. Blue links that turn purple when you visit them, etc. etc. The Cheshire Cat’s fanlisting is only a temporary layout.
I think it will be September when I finally go link hunting for all of my websites, and get to finishing off all these shrines I want to build. With Amber off the Bloodlust project, I need to talk to Ange, and if she’s off too then it’s pretty much set that Bloodlust will be a shrine — Kawada is looking to be the most likely target.
But before that comes In Wonderland, which has a WordPress installation and that’s juuuust about it. But I just e-mailed Crystal, so hopefully that will be up by September!
Anyways, I probably have more to say, but it’s not coming to me.

But Andrew came over and I had to fix Cathy Goldberg’s computer! How was I supposed to update, huh? By magic? Eh? Eh?!
I love hardware repairs way more than software ones, with hardware at the end you can say ‘Yes. This is fixed. There is a taste of minor triumph.’ With software… well, now you’re dealing with the ‘ghosts in the machine.’ Which I think would be a pretty cool thing to haunt to be honest. Typing cryptic messages every few days, causing myself to implode. Other nefarious misdemeanors… I’d be worse than Y2K! (Which was a bit of a let down with regards to the collapse of the universe)
Will I update tonight? Maybe.
It’s my broski’s birthday, and I should probably be nice to him as I can’t really afford to get him anything. Oh, my dear bother… that was a typo, I did indeed mean brother. He’ll be seventeen, which I find kind of scary, he’s getting so big and grown up and totally can and will push me around at random.
I still need to pick my courses for school, but I need to call the university because according to their website all of the compulsory classes I need to take are full. Hmn. My old manager Al said he’d help hook me up with a job at Staples Ottawa, so that takes care of the fact that I have no money at all. My residence is amazing, I can hardly wait to move in with my… double bed and cable TV. BWAAHAHAHAHAH! I don’t even have that in my room at home.
I have a new chapter to upload for Whitechapel, which I will get to soon, I’ve just been so preoccupied with work and life, and have started a new (hopefully) short story about a rockstar. (It sucks less than in sounds like it should I promise) So I’ve been actively writing, a lot of my usual philosophic rants in my paper journal mostly.
In the merry land of websites, obviously my priority is fixing this place up to a serviceable level again, I finished the Sakaki Haruto Fanlisting though (and already it needs a new layout), and totally GOT APPROVED FOR THE CHESHIRE CAT FANLIST!! yey. Book and Movie Characters, not animation, which strikes me as odd that they are two separate but whatever. The small webshrine I was going to be making for the Cheshire Cat receives new furvor, in fact, I may apply for American McGee’s Alice — The Cheshire Cat too just because I am that addicted. No word on the Magical Mystery Tour yet. Albums said they would update this week though, so we’ll see. Loyalties will be getting fixed up soon. My other websites — Ruins is going to be born as I need something Angel Sanctuary, and I’m going to upload all my info on Umbreon for Enigma like I should have done months ago. Cursed also has an update coming in the near future as I prepare to get it fully up to date, as, for those who are yet unaware, the Inuyasha series has finally finished. Loyalties is also looking for an update, and Bloodlust is teetering but may be turned into a Shougo Kawada shrine before the day is out (despite my Sugimura love Shougo would be much more interesting to write about I think)
For OTHER people’s websites, Justin if you still exist, and even read my blog anymore I can make Twilight RO a new layout, last I checked your domain was down, but if you ever read it, I can redo. Blue Heron Books is going to be made less ugly and updated to use Word Press. And finally, Shards will be finished hopefully before CN Anime….
