Yawn

Come on, why do I always get inspired to design when I need to sleep?

Woohoo!

Finished one of the websites I promised to make other people today! It only took me several months to get around to what with my huge creative block (I think it might be starting to dislodge) I give you http://aenp-upsa.artsuottawa.ca

Actually, I like how grungey and modernish it is. A step in a different direction from the usual ho-humery of my usual work. I have… I think two more “commissions” to do. One for ShadowRO which is mostly done, and Blue Heron Books needs a revamp. Doing this stuff for other people is actually pretty good though because it’s helping me learn new techniques.

I have a few ideas for Empty Cage, but Regulus Black has been the personal project that has been winning the most of my personal attention whereas Cursed and Dream Caravan are exacting the most guilt hahaha. I think that Dream Caravan will get loving before Cursed though.

Freedom is almost afoot

Okay, I’m not going to lie, I’ve been off school a few days now… blissfully done my first semester exams and such. But for some reason I’m having trouble getting myself modivated to do anything website related. Which is bad, because I owe three third parties websites right now and I just can’t bring myself to spend time on webwork. Not so good considering I want to have my whole domain cleaned out and freshened up for the new year, and try to get all the websites I owe out and to the people who are owed. Christmas can take some of the blame, by the way, as it’s technically Christmas now — Happy Christmas, loves!

It’s funny because really, I don’t want to do anything, even writing this blog feels more like a moral obligation than something I want to do. It’s weird, occasionally I’ve been knows to get a bit listless in the colder months, but not this bad. I don’t know, I’ll try shoving myself around a bit.

After tomorrow I have probably got more time to write and I have two fanlistings to build, which should round out the ones I have and not lead to my applying for more unless something I would kill for hits the floor.

P.S.

Love Amber more for my layout, it is sexy as hell. Plus, give her a congrats on all the awesomeness that had been going on in Amberland of late.

In Bloom

PLEASE NOTE: I am well aware that the links at the top don’t go anywhere yet

I really wanted to get my website back up though, and so you’ll have to wait until tomorrow for actual content.

Nirvana now owns a very special part of my soul.

You can read it now!

I forgot to update but Felicity (Fee) Worthington of the Gemma Doyle trilogy has a new (readable) layout, as well as codes, and some other small spiffy updates that make it look less like I threw it together in my sleep. I’ll even rewrite the content once I reread the books. Go look at it now, even if you don’t know what the heck I’m on about.

Job still blows.

Digital Darkness

I have been planning a new layout for this place but I cannot come up with how I want it to look, so I’m sitting here being a bit crippled. This layout makes me want to be back in the UK, and even if I consider it the best layout I have ever made it’s still a bit awkward to keep it up now that I’m back in Canada.

I’ve been so restless lately. So awkward coming back to this place.

Sweet Mother of Mercy!

After perhaps the greatest battle I have ever had with anything website related I have finally created the second version of Empty Cage, this one actually features an empty cage I would like to point out.

Now you may be asking what it is that makes this perhaps the most difficult coding webdesign job ever, despite the fact that it’s not a far cry from my usual digital fare. I’ve been a fan of the two column divs since they were new and hip. (As they are no longer cool, I here CSS has taken over…) Well the crucial difference lies in two places.

First, it is compatible with Mozilla Firefox which, though many of my others technically are they are all complete flukes. This one I worked HARD for all you Firefoxians, so I demand your love and appreciation. I even sacrified a bit of spacing on the comment box in IE for you!

Second, I integrated WordPress into this layout, while it sounds like a happy jaunt in the park do not let that decieve you. I have never known digital agony like WordPress integration, you’d think it was brain surgery at some points. Maybe I’ll write a tutorial now that I know how its done. I used a combo of four or five tutorials while tearing a WordPress theme apart. Not-bloody-fun-let-me-tell-you!

So, I’m getting my plane ticket tomorrow, which was the real reason I was so anal about getting the blog potion of my website up so quickly. People on my side of the pond will want to witness my exploits I imagine, as well as see the hundreds of pictures I will undoubtedly take. I’m both excited and nervous about the whole thing, it’s such a huge adventure though and I cannot help being overjoyed at the mere thought!

For my websiting, everything will be getting an overhaul, starting with the main page, then moving into Cursed, and followed, most likely by Bloodlust. I hope to get a bit of work done during the delirious phase of having my wisdom teeth torn from my head, I have some new websites in the works because of the revolting ammount of space I have.

Speaking of which, any friends, family or acquaintances who are looking for a sizable chunk of webspace to put a dash of god-only-knows-what on I have I think four subdomains avaliable. So, I can host a few people… and seriously… space is of no concern right now.

Those of you with websites already, let’s link ^_~

In conclusion, I’m actually working on websites now, which is a huge switch from the usual “I’ll get to it… later.” I got through the hard stuff, so now it’s just filling like there’s no tomorrow.
